New York Comic Con is going virtual this year! Starting on Thursday, October 8, until Sunday, October 11, you can tune in at YouTube.com/NYCC to watch a continuous stream of free panels.
Visit FindTheMetaverse.com for the full schedule, but here are some of the panels I’ve put down on my calendar!
First up is the Star Trek Universe 1-hour block, featuring Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Discovery. There’s also whispers and hints of Star Trek: Prodigy making an appearance of some kind, hence the “surprise guests” part of the title and description. Either way, I’m always excited to see Star Trek having a strong presence at comic conventions!

I’m still super behind on Star Wars books and comics, but the one thing that keeps me coming back to The High Republic is the Loth-wolf seen in early concept art. Anyone who knows me also knows how much I love Star Wars Rebels, so I want to tune in and see if there’s anything related to the animated shows.

Same deal as the previous panel. I’m behind on Star Wars books and comics, but if there’s even the slightest chance anything related to the animated shows could be announced or revealed, I want to be there for that. Plus, Phil Szostak will be there, so here’s hoping The Mandalorian art book will pop up in conversation!

If there’s one show you HAVE to watch on Netflix, it’s Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. So many people have jumped on Twitter just to say how it’s amazing or how it completely took them by surprise. I can’t wait to find out more about the show through this panel, and hopefully, get a season 2 announcement? I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!

I grew up loving Scooby-Doo and the gang, so this panel is a must, especially since it’ll be bringing the 4 central voices of the franchise for their first-ever convention appearance together. It would have been a delight to see this in person, but virtual is the next best thing!
Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! | Sunday, October 11, at 11:40 AM
Be part of the first-ever convention panel to feature the four core voices of the Scooby-Doo franchise as they chat about their all-new film, Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! – and then show you the first eight minutes of the movie! Scooby-Doo and Shaggy’s favorite holiday is upon us! With fake monsters and candy galore, Halloween is heaven for these hungry foodies going door-to-door. But this year, their sweet holiday turns sour when the neighborhood pumpkin patch is infected by toxic ooze, creating high-flying jack-o-lanterns, and a king-sized pumpkin leader squashing everything in its path. It’s up to Scooby-Doo and the gang as they team up with their pals, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and Bill Nye the Science Guy, to solve this mystery of gigantic proportions and save Crystal Cove! Enjoy a fun panel discussion amongst voiceover legend Frank Welker (The Transformers), in his 50th year voicing Fred Jones and 18th year voicing Scooby-Doo; Grey Griffin (DC Super Hero Girls films) in her 20th year as Daphne Blake; Matthew Lillard (Twin Peaks, Bosch, Good Girls) celebrating his 18th year as Shaggy Rogers; Kate Micucci (Unikitty!) in her fifth year as Velma Dinkley; Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), director/producer/writer Maxwell Atoms (Fish Hooks, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) and moderator Damian Holbrook (TV Guide Magazine senior writer). Then stay for a special sneak peek at the first eight minutes of the film. Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! arrives on DVD and Digital HD starting October 6.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am about Animaniacs returning with all-new episodes! It’s one of those shows I remember watching on Kids’ WB back when Kids’ WB was a thing. I miss those days, but thankfully, the 3 crazy siblings are back as well as Pinky and Brain! You can catch them in this behind-the-scenes look. I look forward to whatever antics they’ll be up to next!
It’s time for AN-I-MAN-IACS! Voice Cast & Producer Panel | Sunday, October 11, at 1:15 PM
The Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister Dot are heading home to the Warner Bros. Water Tower. Last but not least, the Big Hero 6 animated series is returning for its third season on Disney XD! If you need to catch up, seasons 1 and 2 are available on Disney+. I can’t wait to hear what season 3 has in store for us. I’m also curious about “the trajectory” of the series part of the description. Will there be a season 4? Will season 3 be its last season? Or will they be wrapping things up in an animated feature film? Here’s hoping we’ll get some information regarding its future.
